Countdown

I am on the countdown - tomorrow is the day.

Day one, where I start counting how many days left and how many shops to fit in.

how many miles to drive,
how many meals on the road,
how many times I'll have to adjust the seat when I get in the car - somebody keeps messing with my seat!
how many times we drive thru Mickey D's for coffee,
how many stupid sewing questions I can ask,
how many times I'll say "Lindsey, where do I go from here?"
how many new country songs I'll learn,
how many times I have to go turn around cause I missed the turn,
how many times Mom will reach for the safety handle as I slam on the brakes - she wore out the brakes  from her seat so now she just hangs on,
how many times will Mom ask (as we're getting in the car) "Lindsey, do you have my stuff?" (meaning the goodies from the shop) to which I will then ask "Lindsey, do you have my stuff?' (she the official stuff keeper),
how many times can Lindsey say " yes, I have your stuff",
how many times can we laugh at ourselves for asking the same questions everytime we get in the car,

-and the ever popular.........

how many times can I say "Are we there yet?" "How much further?" AND  "I'm hungry"

Oh yea, this is going be fun!

Welcome!

First, let me start with a quick explanation of the Shop Hop:

Three women, 34 fabric shops and 30 days to visit them all.  Got it?

For us it's a family affair -

My mother - who is the original quilter in the family, puts forth her car

Me - basically, I drive and drive and drive - good thing I love to drive (especially Mom's comfy car!)

My daughter - who is the planner and organizer in the family, puts forth her skills - she maps out every shop, plans the daily agenda, completes all paperwork at every shop (drawings for free stuff), collects any handouts at each shop and puts them in their proper place - we each have our own bags ( which by the way we have all made ourselves - mine's almost done Lindsey, you betta get cracking on yours!, Mom, we're using the vinyl grocery bags this year) in the back seat!  She also navigates the GPS from the backseat!, writes our reviews of each shop and on occassion she passes food into the front seat for us to eat.

This year we will be taking you on the adventure with us.  Seatbelts everyone!
